ABOUT ORESTONE MANOR
Are children welcome in the hotel?
Children are very welcome in the hotel except for the month of August when the rooms are adults only. Extra beds (suitable for children up to the age of 12 years old) are available for £25 per night room only, although only a limited number of rooms can accommodate them, so please check before booking. Our Horsley suite and Deluxe rooms can comfortably accommodate a family with up to 2 children.
Are children welcome in the restaurant?
Yes. Families with children under 10 can dine from the restaurant menu in our conservatory dining room. In fine weather, the terrace provides a great al fresco dining option, allowing children to play in the garden while remaining in view of their parents.
Can I bring my pet?
Pets are not allowed in the hotel. Non-residents dining on the terrace are welcome to bring well-behaved pets while dining or enjoying a drink on the terrace or in the garden.
What is the dress code?
Whatever makes you comfortable! Many guests dress up for dinner in the evening, but if you prefer to stay casual, that’s absolutely fine. Orestone is a relaxed environment where we want everyone to feel at home.
Do you have disabled access rooms?
We do not have rooms specifically designed for disabled access but we do have a ground floor suite with a large shower and separate bath with may meet your needs – please call or email reception to discuss.
Do you have ground floor rooms?
Our Garden Suite is at ground floor level. This room has a walk in shower.
Do you have twin rooms?
Yes. Rooms 5 and 6 can be configured as double or twin.
What time can I check in?
Whenever you like, but rooms will be available from 3.00 p.m. Feel free to drop luggage off earlier, or come and relax in the hotel or gardens.
What time should I check out?
By 11.00 on the day of your departure, please.
Are there any good walks near by?
Lots! Our team will be happy to give you suggestions, from gentle strolls to serious hikes.
Do you have internet access?
Yes, complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel.
How do I find you?
If coming from the end of the M5 please follow the A379 though Teignmouth. We are a few miles outside of Teignmouth towards Torquay just off this road. If you follow sat-nav you may end up down some narrow lanes.
Which rooms have sea views?
All our rooms have some view of the sea apart from Room 12 and Room 11. From some rooms, the view is from the room terrace or balcony, not the room itself. The best views are from our Suites. Some of our Feature Rooms have direct sea views, some have a restricted sea view in the summer when the trees are in full leaf.
Do you cater for special dietary requirements?
Absolutely. We do ask for as much notice as possible in order to offer a wider choice as all of our dishes are made from scratch in house.
Where is the nearest beach?
Maidencombe beach, straight down the hill outside the hotel. It’s about 10 mins walk there, but a steep 20 minutes or so on the way back. Or you can drive down the hill and park within 100 yards or so.
Do you have a lift?
Unfortunately not. We do have one ground floor room, the Garden Suite, but the remainder are up either one or two flights of stairs. The stairs to the first floor are wide and have banisters all the way, so quite easy as stairs go. The second floor stairs are more narrow. We are always happy to carry your luggage for you, of course.
