Meet the Family
We are a family-run luxury boutique country hotel & restaurant. The hotel is a labour of love for two generations of our family, and we strive to provide guests with a luxurious yet relaxing experience.
At Orestone, you will find all the things you'd expect of a small luxury hotel: comfortable and well-appointed bedrooms, fine food, luxurious public areas, and everything you need at hand. What Orestone is really about though, is the service. We are intimate enough to get to know our guests as individuals, and enjoy doing so. We can be as formal or informal as you like, as attentive or hands-off as you like.
MEET THE FAMILY
Neil & Catherine D'allen
Chef Patron Neil D'allen leads the Kitchen team. Neil's eye for detail and ability to create great taste in his dishes leading the team to produce consistently delicious and well presented food in the restaurant. Of course no one has more incentive to ensure everything is 100 percent from the food itself to the Hygiene and cleanliness of the operation. Neil has over 30 years of experience in the industry starting out as a commis Chef at 18 winning the St Ives Trophy for Trainee Chef of the year. His ambition took him to be one of the youngest Head chefs in the country first at a Classic French style Seafood Restaurant on the beach at the Helford Passage, then to a Country House Hotel in Dorset. Moving onto Management and overseeing large scale operations in house and outside catering for up to 1000 covers.
Neil wanted to return to something more personable and together with his Wife Catherine also an accomplished Chef, found The Orestone Manor.

Craig & Laura D'allen
Craig is the general manager and son at the Orestone. Growing up within the industry led him to being restaurant manager for TUI in Claviere at the age of eighteen. Going on to be restaurant manager or manager of several establishments across the South West to include The Bath Arms of Longleat, Lewtrenchard Manor, Graze in Bristol, Tiffins of Fowey. Joining the family in the taking over of the Orestone Manor in 2011.
Laura, Craig’s wife who is head of reception at the Orestone Manor. After studying at Durham University, Laura started work at reception at the Bath Arms of Longleat. Were both she & Craig met. Working at Lewtrenchard Manor, Fowey Hall, Monkey Sanctuary Looe before joining the family at Orestone Manor in 2011.
MEET THE FAMILY
James D'allen
James who is a duty manager and son at the Orestone. Growing up within the hotel it was a natural progression for James to join the family team.
Currently studying at South Devon College on a hospitality management degree course alongside his full time work at the hotel.
