Discover Sharpham Wines — available at Orestone Manor

We recently had the pleasure of a personal invite to the Sandridge Barton estate — home of the world-renowned Sharpham Wines — for a private tour and wine-tasting session.

It was a tough assignment…but someone had to do it!

Mark Sharham, nephew of Sharpham Wines founders Maurice and Ruth Ash and now managing director for the estate, did a fantastic job of showing us all the vineyard has to offer. From the beautiful vines overlooking the River Dart to the fascinating fermentation process all done on the site, it was truly an enjoyable and worthwhile trip.

Try Sharpham Wines at Orestone Manor

Always at the forefront of innovation and progress, Sandridge Barton have been working towards a winemaking process that requires the least possible additions during fermentation, thus preserving its natural essence.

This approach has resulted in a new range of wines, some of which will be added to our wine list for the spring alongside the ever-popular Dart Valley reserve and Sharpham Sparkling. Clean and delicate flavours that work beautifully as an aperitif or with a fresh salad on a hot summer's day.

If you’d like to book a wine tour at Sandridge Barton, which we'd heartily recommend, the estate is just a 20-minute drive from Orestone Manor.  So why not join us for a luxury dining experience after your visit to the vineyard?
